Flag Lease Program

The Flag Lease Program is the primary Fundraiser of the Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise to provide monies globally and locally for many humanitarian programs. We deliver and install United States flags to subscribers on designated "flag" holidays throughout the year and take them down after the holiday.

2010 Flag Holidays

The Rotarians, Boy Scouts, and youth partners will deliver, set, and pick up flags on the following dates:

Memorial Day from Saturday, May 29, through Tuesday, June 1

Flag Day from Saturday, June 12, through Tuesday, June 15

Independence Day from Friday, July 2, through Monday, July 6

Labor Day from Saturday, September 4, through Tuesday, September 7

Veterans Day from Tuesday, November 9, through Friday, November 12

Delivery Service Area

Our delivery service boundaries in McKinney, Texas, are:

East of Custer Road,

North of McKinney Ranch Road,

South of Highway 380, and

West of Highway 75.

Click Here to see a Map of our service area. Flag leases are sold in currently established routes in the neighborhoods of Stonebridge Ranch and Eldorado. If homeowners in a new neighborhood are willing to order enough flag leases to justify a route, contact our Vice President for Flags, Bryan Northington, by clicking on the contact us link near the bottom of the page to discuss.

If you live outside of these boundaries and would like a flag, Rotarians will install a PVC sleeve in your yard and deliver a flag before Memorial Day and pick it up after Veterans Day. We ask that you agree to set the flag according to our established flag holiday schedule. Prospective flag lease subscribers should read the Letter to Subscribers by clicking on the link below prior to downloading the Flag Lease Application for their order or clicking on the Buy Now button below to purchase your flag lease.

As we near the end of the 2010 flag season, we thank our loyal subscribers for their support of the Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise Flag Program. The cost of the flag lease for 2010 has been $45.00. However, to accommodate new subscribers who want to join the program in time for Labor Day (Sep 6) and Veterans Day (Nov 11), we are offering a pro-rated cost for these holidays at $9.00 each as long as you are willing to pay forward the "early bird" cost of $40.00 for the 2010 flag season.

The total cost will be $58.00 which pays for the remaining flag holidays in 2010 and five flag holidays in 2011 for a total of seven holidays! With costs of supplies continuallly going up, this is a "deal" that you won't want to miss because it locks in your cost for 2011.

Instructions for Proper Flag Care

Please put the flag on your porch each night and put it out again in the morning. Do not leave the flag outside in inclement weather. If the flag should get wet, please let it dry before rolling it for storage.

Please note that your flag will need to fly on the scheduled day of pickup, rain or shine. The Rotary Club will leave the flag in place at your residence until it is dry.
