April is Maternal and Child Health Month

According to the World Health Organization, nearly 830 women die every day from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth.  Many times, this is due to the lack of training and lifesaving equipment which is so readily available in developed countries.   Lack of proper sanitation is indeed another major cause of child mortality across the globe due to infectious diseases.  Yet, even in the United States we see a need for improvement as we have the highest rate of maternal deaths among developed countries with a rate nearly 3 times that of the next closest nation.
WE ARE PEOPLE OF ACTION!
In December 2021, the Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise donated $4,000 to Scott Johnson School for educational needs for deprived students in McKinney and in addition, donated $3,000 to the 'Living Water' project for water wells.

Texas also has one of the world’s largest wind-power-producing farms. Texas has its own power grid. There are three grids in the Lower 48 states: the Eastern Interconnection, the Western Interconnection — and Texas.
