David Heaton
Founder and Executive Director Cornerstone Ranch
David Heaton has served his friends with special needs for the past 22 years. From volunteer and ministry staff roles to national board positions and leading a recognized nonprofit, he understands the needs of this special community. David founded Cornerstone Ranch with his wife, Cynthia, in 2006 and Cornerstone remains a unique jewel in Collin County. They currently provide a life-long home for up to seven adults with disabilities, a day program for 25, and employ 11 full-time and 4 part time staff.
Please make note of the following!

  1. The End-of-Year Recognition Banquet & Installation of Incoming Officers/Directors 2019-20 will be held on Sunday, June 23 at Eldorado Country Club at 6:00 PM.  All McKinney Sunrise and Sunset Rotarians and their guests are invited.  If you are an outgoing or incoming officer/director, you are expected to attend to participate in the ceremonies.  A sign-up sheet of attendees will be available at a future meeting, and Dennis will bill the cost of the banquet on a future dues invoice. The Sunrise Rotary Club will not meet on Wednesday June 26 and the satellite Sunset Rotary Club will not meet on Thursday, July 4 because of the national holiday. Both meetings will be moved to the June 23 recognition and installation banquet.
  2. The All-Abilities Playground is set to open up on June 15, 2019.  We would like to see as many members of the club there as possible so please keep this event in mind.
  3. Make note of upcoming Sunset Club meetings.  This is a great way to make up a meeting if you have to meet one of the regular morning meetings.

  • May 16th the Sunset club will meet at Christina's Fine Mexican Restraunt, 2811 Craig Drive @ 5:30

  • June 6th Two Dog Handlers from Topaz Assistance Dogs, "How Service Dogs Assist People with Special Needs."

If you have announcements that need to be included in the bulletin, please email to Scott.  sdgrigg@hotmail.com
Some days may be rough, but we will never win the prize if we stay out of the game.
