Rise Against Hunger Update
The meals our club packed are currently on their way to South Sudan, a landlocked country in northeastern Africa, which is home to over 11 million people who are facing some of the most severe levels of hunger in the world. Decades of conflict, coupled with recurring floods and droughts, have devastated food production and left many communities without access to basic necessities. The country is grappling with high rates of poverty, food insecurity, and malnutrition, particularly in rural areas. These challenges are compounded by limited access to healthcare, education, and clean water. The Global Hunger Index classifies South Sudan as having an “extremely alarming” level of hunger, highlighting the urgent need for immediate international assistance and long-term solutions to address the crisis.
The meals we packaged will help ensure that people have access to the consistent nourishment they need to live healthy lives, while also supporting the opportunity to receive an education that will serve their families for years to come.
