April is Maternal and Child Health Month

According to the World Health Organization, nearly 830 women die every day from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth.  Many times, this is due to the lack of training and lifesaving equipment which is so readily available in developed countries.   Lack of proper sanitation is indeed another major cause of child mortality across the globe due to infectious diseases.  Yet, even in the United States we see a need for improvement as we have the highest rate of maternal deaths among developed countries with a rate nearly 3 times that of the next closest nation.
WE ARE PEOPLE OF ACTION!
In December 2021, the Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise donated $4,000 to Scott Johnson School for educational needs for deprived students in McKinney and in addition, donated $3,000 to the 'Living Water' project for water wells.

THE PROGRAM THIS WEEK

Our speaker is our member Jeff Caserotti. His topic is…What Is Insurance?

Insurance is a contract, represented by a policy, in which an individual or entity receives financial protection or reimbursement against losses from an insurance company. The company pools clients' risks to make payments more affordable for the insured.
Insurance policies are used to hedge against the risk of financial losses, both big and small, that may result from damage to the insured or her property or from liability for damage or injury caused to a third party.
See you at The Pantry.

Do you know who this person is? Complimentary breakfast at The Pantry, if you know.

It is our past President Julie Smith and current 'Honorary Member.’ Julie grew up in California, where they know a lot about nose rings. If you grew up in the mid-west, you know that nose rings are used to promote good behavior in bulls, hogs, and rams.

This week something must have happened that Floyd had to resort to using the nose ring. Does anyone know? We love you, Julie!
