The December Rotary Theme
is Disease Prevention & Treatment month.
Good health care should be everyone’s right, yet some 400 million people in the world cannot afford or don’t have access to basic health care.  Disease results in misery, pain and poverty for millions of people worldwide.  That’s why treating and preventing disease is so important.

Rotary's top priority in fighting disease is the eradication of polio, but Rotary also supports many activities that reduce the causes and effects of other diseases through education and equipping communities to help stop the spread of life-threatening diseases like HIV/AIDS and malaria, strengthening health care systems, expanding medical services, provision of medical equipment, and improving access to health services.

Why Do People Kiss Under Mistletoe?
by
Tom Kurth
New Member

Loki learned of this and made an arrow from the sprig of mistletoe.
Continued from last WEEK...
Loki then tricked Hoth, Balder's blind brother, into shooting the mistletoe arrow and guided it to kill Balder. The death of Balder meant the death of sunlight - explaining the long winter nights in the North.
Frigga's tears fell onto the mistletoe and turned into white berries. She decreed that the mistletoe should never cause harm again but should promote love and peace instead. From then on, anyone standing under mistletoe would get a kiss.

Wishing you & your family a wonderful Christmas season, and may you be blessed with good health, prosperity, and happiness in the coming year.
