 May is Youth Services Month

The month of May is designated as “Youth Service Month” to focus on all Rotary activities that support the development of young people! Rotary International's Structured Programs for Youth Service are Interact, Rotaract, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, and Youth Exchange. Below is a quick look at each program, visit Rotary.org to learn more about these programs.
INTERACT
Interact Clubs bring together young people ages 12 to 18 to develop leadership skills and learn about the world through service projects and activities.
ROTARACT
Rotaract clubs bring together people ages 18 and older to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service. In communities worldwide, Rotary and Rotaract members work side by side to take action through service. From big cities to rural villages, Rotaract is changing communities like yours.
ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE
Rotary Youth Exchange builds peace one young person at a time. Students learn a new language, discover another culture, and truly become global citizens. Exchanges for students ages 15-19 are sponsored by Rotary clubs in more than 100 countries.
RYLA - Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
RTLA is a leadership development program for young people who want to learn new skills, build their confidence, and have fun. Each year thousands of young people take part in RYLA programs worldwide.

TEXAS FUN FACTS
May 6, 2022

The Astrodome is the world’s first multi-purpose, domed sports stadium, located in Houston, Texas. It was opened on April 9, 1965.

Between 1836 and 1845, Texas was an independent nation. It is the only state to enter the United States by treaty instead of territorial annexation.

Six flags have flown over Texas (Spanish, French, Mexican, Republic of Texas, Confederate, and United States).

George W. Bush, the ex-president of the United States of America (between 2001 and 2009), was the governor of Texas for two terms (served as the 46th Governor of Texas from 1995 until 2000). He was also the first Texas governor to be elected for two consecutive terms since Dolph Briscoe was re-elected in 1974.
