Are all Turkeys Native To America?
 
Yes, turkeys originated in the "New World."
Specifically, wild turkeys are native to Mexico.
It's funny history, European explorers brought wild turkeys home with them in the early 1500s.
The birds were domesticated in Europe and later brought to North America by English colonists. Note that domesticated turkeys have white-tipped tails, and wild turkeys have dark-tipped tails.

On Tuesday, November 7th starting at 8 AM SCORE will be at the Shed to assemble about 100 flags. We need your help to supervise them as they assemble the flags. Can you Help?

Veterans Day is our fifth flag holiday of the flag season. Your help at the Shed on Tuesday, November 8th at 3:00 PM would be a great way to continue the flag season.

  1. The next Board meeting is on Tuesday, November 15th, 2022, beginning at 6:01 PM.  If you have not sent in your report to Chuck, please do so by Monday, 10-17-2022.

  3. ARE YOU CURRENT ON YOUR DUES?  Did you know that you can pay your dues online?  Well, now you can.  Just follow these easy instructions.  

    Go to “mckinneysunriserotary.org”

    Log on as a member – if you don’t have a login, create one.

    Once on as a member, look to the right side of the home page and see “ Members Only”. Click here.

    Select 'Pay Club Dues' for  Sunrise  – you can also select the optional RI Foundation payment of $37.50.

    Follow your nose and the instructions. It will take you to either PayPal or Credit Card payment.

    If you need to pay more (or less) than the set amounts, go to “Other Payment” and enter the details when you “Continue”

    Hope this helps, if you need to, you can always send a check to Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise at P.O. Box 2244, McKinney, TX 75070.

  4. We are looking for suggestions for speakers, please let Bobbi or Staci know if you have some ideas.

  5. We currently have 3,200 flags going out on the flag holidays with our flag program IN 2022.
