The contest is open to high school students in grades 9-12, which can include Interact members and speech students at McKinney High, North, Boyd, McKinney Christian Academy, Imagine Academy, and Home School.
Children and grandchildren of Rotarians are also eligible to enter.
The winner, who will receive a $250 College Scholarship, will be entered in the Rotary District 5810 4-Way Speech Contest on April 7.
The District Assembly training and information for incoming officers and directors for 2018-19 will be held at the Collin College Higher Education Center at Hwy 75 and 121 on Saturday, March 24.
If you are new to Rotary, this is a great opportunity to learn about the role for your office or Avenue of Service.
If you have been in Rotary several years, you will also learn something new and enjoy networking with Rotarians from other clubs.
All participants must pre-register by going to www.rotary5810.org and open the link on the home page to “District Assembly.” When registering, check the option “pay at the door.”
As soon as we determine how many are attending, we will complete a check request to Dennis Snavely, Treasurer, and take one club check on March 24.
