What characteristics do you love most about McKinney? Is it an adventure, music, or entertainment? Culture, food, or beauty?
Is it A Stand-Out Community?
"Underlying McKinney’s homey Southern charm is a thoroughly modern city. The area is a hotbed for growth-industry jobs…Career and college prep are big in McKinney’s schools.” - Money Magazine
It is a combination of factors that makes McKinney a truly special place in America, it is the people in McKinney who bring these qualities to life. That community spirit is evident in a friendly, safe, and inviting city that holds strong ties to its roots and history while enjoying rapid economic development and continually adding new amenities that compliment and expand our unique quality of life.
Our program this week will feature Spencer Dudas, Director at the Heard Natural Science & Wildlife Sanctuary. The Heard recently completed a Sanctuary Strategic Plan. Sunrise Rotary has just started a Strategic Plan led by Larry Offerdahl.
The Herard Wildlife Sanctuary consists of 289 acres of a combination of wooded areas, native prairies, wetlands, and the Wilson Creek corridor.
Spencer will update our club members on the recent and future improvement projects and of the threats and challenges the Sanctuary is currently experiencing.
Labor Day/Patriot Day is our fourth Flag Lease holiday of the flag season. Your help at the Shed on Thursday, September 1st at 4:00 PM would be a great way to continue the flag season.
