Meet Charles M. Koehler, the Secretary for the McKinney Sunrise Rotary Club!  This Rotarian, who goes by Chuck, has been a member of McKinney Sunrise Rotary Club for 28 years, and is currently our only charter member.  Before moving to McKinney, Chuck was a member for 10 years in the Sterling (IL) Rotary Club.  
 
 
Chuck Koehler, who is the current Secretary of McKinney Sunrise Rotary Club, is a graduate of Northern Illinois University where he received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Education.  His occupation and training are in the field of Financial Services.  He has professional certification as a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and AEP from the American College, PA.  He retired as the Regional Benefits Vice-President of Symetra Financial and is the CEO of Financial Services and Online Businesses at Home. 
 
Not only is Chuck a Charter Member of McKinney Sunrise Rotary Club, he is a Past-President of the club.  He has previously held offices as the Vice-President, Treasurer, Membership Chair, and the Flag Committee Chair.  He is currently a member of the Flag Committee and the Board Secretary in addition to his club secretarial duties.  His duties as Secretary includes membership database, club correspondence, recording attendance for club members, reporting data to Rotary International, and is the custodian of all documents.  You will find Chuck at every club meeting, at the Flag Shed when flags are delivered and retrieved, and at all Board meetings.  
 
Chuck is a Paul Harris Fellow plus 1 and a Sustaining Member.  His honors in Rotary include 28 years of perfect attendance; he was honored as Rotarian of the Year twice; and when he was President, the club achieved the District Governor's Citation Award.  His goal for the coming Rotary year in 2019-20 is to increase member participation. 
 
Chuck has been married to Janet for 58 years, and the couple has three adult children and nine grandchildren.  When you see Chuck, thank him for his dedicated service to McKinney Sunrise Rotary Club.
