McKinney Sunrise Rotary Flag Program

The Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise invites you to join your friends and neighbors in displaying the U.S. flag on six major holidays in 2024.
Our Flag Lease Program is the primary fundraiser supporting our health, humanitarian, and youth service programs locally, nationally, and globally. We take care of everything—purchasing, displaying, storing, and maintaining the flags. Please note that the flags remain the property of the Rotary Club of McKinney Sunrise.

 

Flag Lease is $60 for Veterans Day 2024 and ALL six holidays for 2025

**If you live outside of our service boundaries listed above and would like a flag at your McKinney residence, please contact the McKinney Downtown Rotary Club about their flag lease program which services the rest of McKinney.

 

The Rotarians and other volunteer partners will deliver, set up, and pick up flags to be flown on the following holidays:
  1. Memorial Day
  2. Flag Day
  3. Independence Day 
  4. Labor Day
  5. Patriot Day
  6. Veterans Day
When you lease a flag, we will install a PVC plastic sleeve with a cap in the ground near your front curb. No brackets or fixtures are attached to your home. On each of the six holidays, a 3’ x 5’ U.S. flag mounted on a 10-foot metal pole is placed in the sleeve.

As part of this process, you are responsible for advising the installation team during registration on the preferred placement location for the PVC sleeve to avoid sprinklers, plumbing, and electrical service hazards. If no preference is provided, the flag prep team will select a suitable location near your curb for the PVC sleeve. Additionally, it is your responsibility to ensure that the plastic sleeve does not rise above the ground’s surface, where it could pose a hazard to lawn equipment.
 
Please note that your flag must remain flying on the scheduled pickup day, rain or shine. In the event of rain, Rotary will leave the flag in place at your residence until it is dry.
